The Ulupan na Pansiansia'y Salitan Pangasinan will hold the 2nd Pangasinan Creative Writing and Seminar Workshop on August 27-29, 2011 at Don Teofilo Sison Auditorium, Lingayen, Pangasinan.
This creative writing and seminar workshop aims to “revitalize Pangasinan literature by honing the literary skills of young Pangasinenses in various genres: poetry, short story, essay and the novel.” It also intends “to acquaint teachers in the province with the current state of Pangasinan literature underscoring their role in the promotion and revitalization of Pangasinan history and culture.
Participants to the seminar workshops are teachers of literature and advisers of student publication in the tertiary, secondary and elementary levels.
The 2nd Pangasinan Creative Writing & Seminar/Workshop is a project of the Ulupan na Pansiansia'y Salitan Pangasinan and sponsored by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the Office of the Governor of the Province of Pangasinan.

In promoting Pangasinan language the UPSP published a book of Pangasinan Folk Songs entitled: “A Compilation of Pangasinan Folk Songs: An Informational Resource Material for Cultural Transmission, Restoration and Preservation”, authored by Dr. Shirley L. Milanes.
The said book contains 30 compiled selected Pangasinan folk songs that richly depict the traits, customs, traditions and character of Pangasinenses which include: lullaby or nursery songs, children songs, courtship songs, wedding songs, dance songs, occupational songs and fun songs and are provided with song notes to guide the readers who wants to play in an instrument such as guitar, piano and other else.

The Ulupan na Pansiansiay Salitan Pangasinan (UPSP) hailed its new set of officers after the Election convened in line with the 6th General Assembly held at Purok Marcela Resort, Libsong West, Lingayen, Pangasinan on April 9, 2011.
Prof. Elnora B. Dudang, a Science teacher of Pangasinan State University Lingayen Campus, being the elected President leads the new set of officers together with Mr. Sonny Villafania as Vice President.
President-elect Dudang said “No nayari kumon agko labay so manpresidente, balet kaukulan so balon lima na manasekaso ed saray kaukulan a itdan imano iray para Ulupan (I preferred to be a supporter of Ulupan rather than to be a president, however new challenges has to be faced this time).
